UAGM Recinto de Gurabo/PREC participated in the Collegiate Wind Competition 2018, where students members of the Juracan Energy Team design a wind turbine and present their results at the American Wind Energy Association WINDPOWER in Chicago, Illinois, from May 8–10.

US Department of Energy Collaboration between the University of Miami and PREC to provide free of charge assessments to qualified manufacturing sites and critical infrastructure. ( Hospitals and Medical care facilities).This effort is part of DoE Industrial Assessment Centers l (DE-EE-0007706).
En el Puerto Rico Energy Center (PREC) estamos comprometidos con la recuperación de Puerto Rico tras el paso del huracán María. Como parte de estos esfuerzos hemos preparado un servicio de asesorías gratuito para brindarle soluciones energéticas al público en general. El PREC cuenta con sobre 10 años de experiencia realizando auditorías energéticas y proveyendo asistencia técnica en hogares, industria, gobierno y comercios.
The Puerto Rico Energy Center (PREC) is committed to the recovery of Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria. As a part of our efforts, we are providing free consultation services to the general public regarding energy solutions and needs. PREC has over 10 years of experience conducting energy audits and providing technical assistance in homes, industry, government, and commercial settings.
An alliance between the University of Miami and Universidad del Turabo through the School of Engineering and the Puerto Rico Energy Center is providing free energy audit services to provide energy-saving recommendations to small and medium-sized businesses through a team of students and professionals. In this way both companies and students benefit, as the latter acquire a valuable experience for their future professional career. Our current team has 9 students, 2 teachers and one technician.

Desde el 27 de mayo de 2014 se instituyó en P.R. la primera agencia reguladora para el sector de la energía eléctrica. Desde entonces nuestro servicio se encuentra regulado por un ente independiente de la Autoridad de Energía Eléctrica. Estas comisiones se proliferaron en los EE.UU. a finales del siglo 19 y principios del 20 y más recientemente en Latinoamérica en la década del 1990.
