Dear Colleagues,

The Puerto Rico Energy Center (PREC) and the Latin American and Caribbean Consortium of Engineering Institutions (LACCEI) invite to the scientific community and professionals to the VI International Symposium on Energy and the Forum on Innovation and Entrepreneurship to be held on 20 and 21 February of 2014 (respectively) at the Universidad del Turabo in Gurabo, Puerto Rico .

The program is suitable for entrepreneurs, investors, researchers, professionals and students to share their contributions and experiences in the areas related to technological energy and innovation.


On February 19th, as a prelude to the symposium, a forum will be held on energy policies for Puerto Rico, where present and future governmental energy strategies for Puerto Rico will be presented. The forum will be attended by representatives of the government and the local and international private sector.

Last year, the V International Symposium on Energy had over 300 participants from Spain, Panama, Colombia, Mexico, Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, Trinidad & Tobago and the United States, among others. This year we expect a higher participation, reaching up to 300 participants in the 3 days. The recognized success of the event has had involved organizations such as the Latin American and Caribbean Consortium of Engineering Institutions, the Department of Energy of the United States through the Massie Chair of Excellence Program, the Ibero-american Association for Energy Regulatory Commissions and the National Center of Renewable Energy in Spain among others. This event has an immediate economic impact on tourism and local trade as well it has an invaluable contribution to the energy, academic, technological fields and encourages the innovation.
